Masters 1000 clay-court event starts on 24 April

#NextGenATP Spaniard Martin Landaluce and Kei Nishikori have been awarded wild cards for the 2024 Mutua Madrid Open, the tournament announced Wednesday.

The 18-year-old Landaluce competed on home soil at the ATP Masters 1000 event last season, falling to Richard Gasquet in the first round. The No. 317 player in the PIF ATP Rankings has enjoyed a good start to the season, reaching the semi-finals at an ATP Challenger Tour event in Spain before he won his first match at the ATP Masters 1000 tournament in Miami (d. Munar).

Former World No. 4 Nishikori made his first competitive appearance of the season in Miami last month. The 34-year-old will make his 10th appearance in Madrid, with his best result in the Spanish capital a run to the final in 2014.
